Oscars 2015 Red Carpet Round Up

dakota johnson saint laurent, anna kendrick jenny packham, giuliana rancic steven khalil oscars 2015
Normally, I wouldn't do a red carpet round up, buuuuut, I was way too obsessed with so many looks from last nights Oscars that I just had to share some of my faves!! If you follow me on twitter (@JesskaDenise) then you will have experienced all the anguish of my live tweets. Red carpet season is my favourite time of year, TV wise, that is. Note how I didn't say 'award season', I could care less about who wins what, it's all some kind of weird Hollywood politics that I don't really understand and if you're not Leonardo, does it really matter if you win anything? Reallllyyyyyyy??
Anyway, onto the dresses, I narrowed it down to 6 of my faves. I was going to do more (yes, there were more, Margot Robbie) but I restrained myself and even left out who I thought was worst dressed *cough* Gwyneth *cough*.
In the top pic, L-R, I have
  1. Dakota Johnson looking absolutely FLAWLUSS in Saint Laurent. When I first saw her arrive on the red carpet, I wasn't too sure about her look, but ughh the more I saw, the more I L O V E D. Who knew a simple ponytail, basic makeup and a single jeweled strap could be so show stopping?
  2. I've never paid much attention to Anna Kendrick's red carpet style before, she usually plays it pretty safe with a lot of blacks and off white shades. I know a lot of people hated this Jenny Packham dress but I think she looked pretty damn elegant and it complimented her pale skin tone so well. I also adored how she matched her lippie to the dress.
  3. Giulianaaaaa in Steven Khalil - it's not a red carpet without Giuliana Rancic, she's been pulling out all the stops this season and I'm so so happy that she's toned down the platinum blonde hair. It was so harsh against her skin tone, her new balayage lob is TDF.
reese witherspoon oscars tom ford, emma stone elie saab, zendaya vivienne westwood, oscars
and the final three,
  1. Reese Witherspoon - I don't have much to say really. Elle Woods. It trended on Twitter. I love the monochrome, I love the black detail around the waist, I love how it creates the perfect hourglass figure and flares out at the bottom, the minimalist jewelry and the soft hair, I could go on. How does she always look so put together yet effortless at the same time?!?!??!
  2. I feel like I waited the whole night for Emma Stone to get on the red carpet and when she did, she didn't disappoint. I saw a few tweets before her arrival saying she was going to be wearing Elie Saab and I died. Emma and Elie Saab is a dream. Elie Saab in general is just a dream but ahh, Emma (and Taylor Swift) is my go to girl for red carpet glam, she NEVER disappoints, like ever. The color of the dress also really stood out, I feel like no one else was rocking this kind of shade??
  3. Zendaya came out of no where for me, she wasn't even on my radar but she really had a moment and I just love how this Vivienne Westwood dress drapes below the shoulder, just a little bit of skin, not too much. Still looking fun and fresh considering how young she is. The hair really tied it all together.
Soooo there's my 6 faves and my thoughts. I had more thought's but they wouldn't be legible really 'asdfghjkl' for example doesn't really translate well when describing a red carpet look does it?
It's worth noting that I was going to squeeze in Ansel Elgort and Eddie Redmayne because like the rest of the internet, I think it's pretty comical that they both rocked up to the Oscars in suits that were nearing on identical. Even if one was Prada and the other McQueen, 10 points if you know who was wearing who. Adam Levine was also another fav for obvious reasons but you can satisfy any Maroon 5 love with a quick google search.
Who were your faves from the Oscars 2015? Comment below, I must know your thoughts.

Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo Review

aussie miracle dry shampoo review
Ya'll ready for this? Aussie miracle dry shampoo is definitely miraculous. It converted me from a dry shampoo hater to an obsessive. I'm pretty obsessed with this dry shampoo. Not only am I getting away with greasy hair (incognito mwhaha) but it gives freshly washed hair that extra va va voom.
good dry shampooTypically, dry shampoo irks me because, you spray it on your hair and expect it to soak up some of that greasiness but it leaves your hair feeling all powdery and honestly, looks a tad grey. No amount of brushing or hand patting can get rid of it and it usually smells pretty sketchy too, overly manufactured fruitiness to be precise. I'm getting chills just thinking about it.

But enter Aussie. Aussie, Aussie! Ridiculously priced but well worth it. If you can get it on offer you feel like you're winning at life, am I right or am I right ladies? All their products smell the same, bubblegum and it's great because once you're using nothing but Aussie products, you can layer the scents and your hair smells like hardcore bubblegum. Delicious. I love it because it's not too in your face (or nose) and it smells pretty natural, if bubblegum scented hair is natural that is.

Lets appreciate the gif shall we? Appreciation over? Okay. Look how effortlessly it comes out of the can! It's neither too much, or too little. You really get to control how much of the product you apply to your hair. I find with other cans, it just come flying out uncontrollably and goes everywhere. My poor hair. But this is just perfection.
My hair can get quite greasy if I'm using a lot of products when I blow dry and with commuting and studying sometimes I don't get a second to wash it and this comes in so handy. I split my hair into three sections, hold the can a fair bit away from the hair, focus on the roots and spray. I let it linger for a couple of seconds and then I run my hairbrush through to ensure it soaks up most of the greasiness. It won't make you're hair look freshly washed or anything but you will get away with a simple braid or ponytail without worrying if your hair looks nasty. Sometimes I use this for styling my hair after it's been washed, it gives it a little bit of grit and volume. It also doesn't feel powdery in the slightest. You'd barely even remember you used it for only you can smell it on your hair.

There's three different Aussie dry shampoos, one for normal to greasy hair, another for coloured hair (i use this one too, and I really like it) and another for limp, fine hair. One for every hair type.
Have you used the Aussie miracle dry shampoo? What did you think? Did you la la love?

The Haul

fashion haul
January is over, but the sales are still on and oh boy have I had to restrain myself. The girls and I, have been raiding Athlone town centre on a weekly basis since coming back from Christmas. There's so many great bargains! I'm saving for my trip to NYC in June so I've only nabbed a few things over the last couple of weeks but I thought I would share my small purchases with you guys because who doesn't love a good haul?
aussie dry shampoo blog
I'm obsessed with the Aussie miracle dry shampoo, so much so that this is my third can of the stuff. Who'd have thought that I, JesskaDenise, would become a dry shampoo fanatic? Now, now, lets not get ahead of ourselves, it iss just the Aussie dry shampoo I love afterall, but it's a crazy step for someone who used to be so anti-dry shampoo. I have a whole post on this bad boy coming up soon so keep your eyes peeled for that. I picked this up in Boots for 6.49€.
topshop blog haul
Topshop's sale was a little disappointing. Anything in my size that I fancied was gone. I made up for this disappointment by buying another crop top, I've worn my other one to death and I need to have one to fall back on when the other is in the wash. Pathetic? Probs. I also picked up a pair of funky high waisted trousers for 23€ down from 40 something before Christmas. I haven't gotten around to wearing them yet, the material scares me a little, it's like some weird stretchy material. I love the design on them though, so cute. I used my student card and managed to get an extra few €€ off them too. Bargaaaainnnn!
zara sale buys blog
Zara is where it's at right now. The S/S15 collection is incredible, so many bright yellows and navy stripes. It's like the Hampton's tied up into one little neat pile and I require all of it. I have my eye on this dress with a V neck drop on the back, it's so pretty! I picked up a couple of basic tees in the sale during the week, all 2.99€ each down from 12-16€. The one in the pics is pretty hilarious, it made me chuckle so I had to buy it. Perfect for Summer. Yes I just mentioned Summer, oh god, lets just leave it there shall we?
Have you guys managed to nab a few bargains in the sales? I'm trying to stay away from the online stores cause I know I'll be broke by the time I log off them, confessions of a shopaholic or what?
