Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Darker Tan Review

(Cocoa Brown* 1 hour tan in the shade 'Dark'. )
Summer is well and truly upon us and strangely enough we're in the midst of yet another heatwave here in little old rains 360/365 days of the year Ireland.
True sign of a heatwave? The pack of lobsters making their way down the street.
Makes me squirm just thinking about it. As much as i love a good tan, I'm not about to burn my skin to achieve it. I'm quite lucky in that I've never actually burned until this summer. My acne medication has made my skin so sensitive to the sun and tanning is just not on the agenda right now. But it's fine cause Cocoa Brown exists and in the last few months they released their '1 Hour Tan' in a deliciously dark new shade.
(Before on the left. After on the right.)
The first picture is the tan straight after I applied it and the second picture is one hour later after a quick shower. Pretty damn impressive right? When I applied the tan to my whole body I felt like I had just returned from a holiday in the sun i was that dark. Quite the contrast from how pale I usually am.
I used the pink Cocoa Brown tanning mitt to apply and in typical Cocoa Brown fashion it applied really easily and dried instantly. As the tan went on quite dark I found it way easier to apply than the original as I could see where I had already applied and this resulted in no streaks. It's worth remembering that I suck at applying tan so no streaks is great. If you're a tanning newbie you'll really appreciate the simplicity of how it applies.
There was no funky digestive biscuit tan smell. Just a lovely subtle floral scent. It actually smells pretty much like the original 1 hour tan.
Best of all? No orange. That's right. Even though it's a whole lot darker than the original shade Cocoa Brown have managed to stay true to their aim and produce a fake tan that you know - looks like an actual brown tan. Purrrfect.
I couldn't recommend this tan enough. I especially think it's perfect for right now during our little heatwave if you're looking for a nice little glow.
Naturally this tan doesn't contain an SPF but if you apply your regular SPF on top of it you will remain protected from the sun. The SPF won't affect the appearance of your tan either.
No need to look like a lobster ;)
